Stop bidding against 4 other pros
for the same lead.

Angi sells every lead to 4–5 pros at once, then takes platform commission on top. MyGuyPro doesn't sell leads at all — flat $79.99/month, you only meet customers who already chose you. We did the math. Angi's costing you more than you think.

The shared-lead trap

Why "an Angi lead" usually means losing to 4 other quotes.

Angi (formerly Angie's List + HomeAdvisor) sells the same homeowner request to multiple pros simultaneously. You don't know that going in. You write a quote. They get four other quotes. You're now in a race to the cheapest bid.

On Angi

One homeowner → 4–5 pros bidding

Angi sells the same lead to multiple pros at once. You quote in good faith, but so does everyone else — and you only find out who you were competing against after the homeowner picks. Average reported close rate: ~10%. You paid the lead fee anyway.

On MyGuyPro

One homeowner → one pro

Customers browse profiles, pick a pro, and request a booking. No bidding war. No simultaneous quoting to four competitors. The conversation is 1:1 from the first message. You pay $79.99/mo regardless of how many bookings you get — close rate doesn't change your costs.

FAQ for Angi switchers

The questions every pro asks before switching

Honest answers. If we don't have a great one yet, we say so.

Does MyGuyPro really not sell leads?

Correct. There's no lead marketplace, no per-lead fee, no "we'll match you with three customers for $60" mechanic. Clients browse pro profiles by service category and ZIP, pick one, and request a booking. You're the only pro that booking comes to. No bidding war.

What about Angi's background-check program?

Angi runs criminal background checks on pros who opt in. MyGuyPro does manual admin review for every Verified Pro before activation, and we display whatever the pro self-reports for license and insurance with a clear "self-reported, not independently verified" disclaimer. Background check is on our v1.1 roadmap — for now, we're transparent about what we have and don't have.

How is the 2-month free trial different from Angi's "first month free" offers?

Angi's free trials usually come with mandatory lead commitments or a fixed lead-spend threshold. MyGuyPro's 2-month free trial has no commitments. You sign up via Apple, get 2 months of Pro tier features, and cancel any time in iOS Settings. After the trial, $79.99/mo unless you cancel.

What if Angi's "Angi Pro" subscription is better for me?

Angi Pro adds prioritized lead delivery, but you still pay per-lead, and leads are still shared with other pros. The structural problems don't go away by upgrading the subscription. MyGuyPro removes the per-lead model entirely — that's the whole point.

Will my Angi reviews transfer?

No — Angi owns those reviews and won't let them transfer. But your existing customers can leave you reviews on MyGuyPro after their first booking. We've seen pros build to 10+ verified reviews within their first 30–45 days, putting them on par with their Angi profile reputation but on a platform that's not extracting per-lead fees from every quote.

What's the catch on "no commission"?

No catch. There's a small standard card-processing fee on each payment (~2.9% + 30¢) — that's the same processing fee any card transaction incurs, regardless of which platform you're on. MyGuyPro doesn't add platform commission on top of that. Your subscription is the only money flowing to MyGuyPro.

I'm in a city Angi has heavy presence in. Will I lose visibility by switching?

Some short-term yes, while the MyGuyPro pro and client base grows in your city. Most pros run both for 30–60 days, then drop Angi once MyGuyPro's free-trial volume + organic growth covers their booking pipeline. Premier Pro tier ($139.99/mo) helps with top placement during the ramp.

Can I see what clients see before signing up?

Yes — open the MyGuyPro app on iOS without signing up, browse the marketplace, see how pro profiles render, see the Verified Pro badge, the trust signals, the booking flow. There's no paywall on the consumer-side experience. Get a feel for what your profile would look like before committing.

Try MyGuyPro free for 2 months.
